Let’s Decorate-Easy Room Refresh For Just $100

This post is sponsored by Old Time Pottery, although all opinions, thoughts, and digital media are mine.

When It comes to decorating my home just call me the decorating Queen!! When my husband and I first bought our home over three years ago, I had an idea of how I wanted every room to be decorated, and knew I wanted it to all be affordable. Guess what? That’s exactly what I did too! Its a normal thing for me to go up and down the aisles of Old Time Pottery while gazing and adding decor to my home in my mind. Hey! I love it!

Old Time Pottery makes it easy for you when you’re wanting to decorate your home, if you already have an idea of your theme and what you want to include, you can easily find it there. Even if you don’t know what you want, I’m pretty sure you will get the spark of inspiration while you’re roaming the aisles!

Just so you know, I am one of those women who changes furniture around every two months, just to give the room a refreshed look. It may even be for my sanity. LOL I know I am not the only one right? So when it comes to my entry way theirs not too much rearranging I can do. When I think about it, it may be the one space that only gets attention a couple of times a year and that’s specifically for holidays. I know I’ve been slacking because your entry way should have a WOW factor being that its the first thing people see when they come into your home.

So I challenged myself to refresh my entry way with just $100, my creativity, and a trip to Old Time Pottery. So this is how it all came together!

The Before!

I must admit my entry way table was a bit boring and lonely looking. Not a WOW factor at all. During the holidays this table is decorated nicely. I had a glass vase but one of my children knocked it down and broke it. I know #momlife!!

Also did I mention that this is the shoe stop as well. We made it a rule that the kids should take their shoes off before heading upstairs. My husband has been telling me for awhile that we needed some type of shoe storage shelving. But as you can see in the pictures above, it hasn’t happened.

So my formal living room is a Paris theme, so I knew going in I wanted to extend the theme into my entry way. I was able to find some great pieces and decor to fit this theme.

The After!

Bonjour! Talk about the WOW factor! The first item I found was this gorgeous Eiffel Tower replica, I pretty much designed everything else around this. It was actually on clearance too! So I received an extra 25% off! Talk about a WIN!! The books are actually fake but doubles as nice decor and a box for storage. I had to add my southern touch as well so I got this cute home sweet home picture box. It was on clearance too! I’m a sucker for vases, small or large I love them all.

This nice beat metal vase goes well with this Paris charm theme. It was also on clearance too! I couldn’t make my mind up so I switched the vase with this candle holder I already had. Which design do you like? Table with candle holder or vase? Let me know in the comments please.

Lets talk about this black and gold trimmed square mirror. When I laid my eyes on it, I knew I had to get it. To make it even better, it was on clearance!!! Did ya’ll read that last sentence? It was on clearance!!

How about the vase here? Actually my husband said he liked it better on this table, which I already had in my formal living room. The picture on the wall of the Eiffel Tower and the metal Eiffel Tower decor are things I already had as well.

Guess what? I solved the shoe storage problem. Found this nice storage compartment shelving. I have it turned on its side but you can also stand it up, and buy more and sit them side by side to add more compartments. Now the kids can put their shoes in each section and everything will look nice and neat. This item wasn’t on sale but I was able to get and additional off being that I found a small imperfection, that can easily be fixed.

Take a look at this basket, I found on clearance. Now I have a specific place to put my magazines without them looking out of place.

Grand Total Is……

A room refresh can be affordable and easy like one, two, three, literally. I designed everything and hung the wall decor myself and only took me about 30-45 min to do. See! who said decorating had to be a daunting task. I love the way my entry way came out and it looks totally different with the items I purchased at Old Time Pottery and the things I already had.

So while doing this room refresh, I came up with some helpful tips that will allow to to have a great experience while being affordable at the same time.

  1. Have some type of theme in mind.
  2. Shop sales and clearance
  3. Use different pieces from other rooms in your home.

So now for the grand total, which is what I know you’ve been waiting for. Let me remind you what I got! A three storage compartment, Gold trimmed square mirror, Eiffel tower replica, Home sweet home picture box, Beat metal vase, A pair of old world book boxes, and a Black wicker basket. All of this came up to $100.73. Lets not count the 73 cents LOL!

This was a really good Old Time Pottery haul, and I know I will be back for another round for another room soon! What was your favorite thing about the room refresh?

Until Next Time!
